General Palma, was born in 1974 in Milan (Italy) and his musical tastes were mainly influenced by his mother (reggae enthusiast) and by his uncle (musician). From the middle of 70's to the end of 80's, roots rock reggae filled up daily life of the entire family. In early 90's there were realities like One Love Hi Powa, Sud Sound System and Bass Fi Mass who spread the roots and culture message all over Italy.
For the born of General Palma Sound was essential Pergola, the yard of Bass fi Mass in Milan, place where the love for this music grow bigger than ever. In 1998 the idea to create a sound system was clear and in few months Palma collected many 45" mainly from Jahmekia, an historical records shop in Milan. The next year Palma got in contact with Burro Banton and started cutting dubplates. Then he met Jippo and Andy, two austrian guys who early became new members of the crew and from the beginning of 2000 they started to work hard also with Ironshirt Sound to make Fieberbrun, a little town of Tirol, the baddest dancehall yard in Austria.
Still right now it's well known to the reggae massives and our bredrens from Shizzle Sound are keeping the fire blazing. In the following years our crew was spreading good vibes all over Italy, Austria and the rest of the world with a strong dubplates box, mixtapes, competing in soundclashes and building a real sound system with a vast amount of power respecting jamaican tradition. Everybody knows that all of these things couldn`t happen without the help of his jamaican fada mr. Burro Banton, who always supported General Palma Sound. During 2014 Palma collaborated with Massive Culture crew from CS Cantiere in Milan to promote some big dancehall events. Now the family is getting bigger with the experienced soundmen Jahnni, Red, Mirko and Minni. So people listen to General Palma Sound now and enjoy!! Blessed love to each and everyone! Selassié knows!
